Volunteer with SVI! Squaw Valley Institute relies on the efforts and talents of its volunteers to create and organize its events, staff its office, and raise funds to support operations. Regardless of whether you are able to volunteer a few hours of your time, or would like to be involved on an ongoing basis, we would love to welcome you to our group of volunteers. So many of our best ideas have come from our community, and the best way to see your awesome idea implemented is to lend a hand in developing it! Check out the areas opposite in which we’re looking for help (the most popular ones are marked with a ) and let us know what interests you in the form below:

Current volunteer opportunities include:

Advisory Committee

Our Advisory Committee is responsible for planning and arranging our events. It meets twice per month for two hours in Squaw Valley, and is a great way to influence Squaw Valley Institute’s programming! Click here for more info!

Event Volunteer

Involves staffing the door and ticket sales at events and helping to set up and clean up after events; some volunteers choose to join us regularly, others for just a specific event.

Marketing Volunteer

Our events are publicized through radio, TV, posters and online marketing. Let us know if you’re able to aid in developing these channels!

If you have innovative ideas and a drive for arranging fund raising events and programs, we’d love to work with you!

Grant Writer

Squaw Valley Institute has been the fortunate recipient of grants from several local foundations, and we hope to continue this success by involving additional grant writers in our plans.

Graphic Designers

We’re always looking for talented graphic designers to aid in developing our event posters and brochures.

Database Management

If you’re a whiz with SQL, we can definitely use your skills in maintaining our membership and mailing lists!

Membership Coordination

Our EBay GivingWorks Giving Program

Squaw Valley Institute is part of the EBay GivingWorks program which allows sellers to donate a portion of their EBay sales to reputable non-profits.  The process couldn’t be simpler; you can donate a percentage of your sale proceeds to Squaw Valley Institute as you create your sale listing.  Click here for more details.

SVI Corporate Gift Matching

Check with your employer to see if they offer a gift matching program –  if they don’t, you may want to ask your company to start one.  If your employer does offer this program, your Human Resources department should provide you with a matching gift form to send to us along with your donation.

Sponsor an SVI Event

We have worked extensively with local businesses who have been kind enough to sponsor our events; some examples can be seen here.  We are able to offer attractive sponsorship packages that include exposure through our online and offline marketing campaigns and event tickets for your employees.  Please contact us to discuss these opportunities.

Host a Fundraiser

To date, we have hosted fund raising events in conjunction with local wine bars, hotels and art galleries, and are always open to new fundraising suggestions and collaborations!  Please contact us to suggest an event!
