In 2006, Camille Cusumano went to Buenos Aires planning to stay two months. After just two days, she canceled her return ticket and the trip turned into 1.5 years and resulted in year a book - Tango, An Argentine Love Story(Seal Press).
To date, she has lived in Argentina 3.5 years. Camille will perform a live demonstration of the Argentine tango, talk about its magic, writing her book and the tango / writing communities in Buenos Aires.
She'll also share the pros and cons of quitting your day job to go live in another hemisphere "write" now!

| |
About the speaker: Alison Murray is an Associate Research Professor in the Division of Earth and Ecosystem Sciences. Her areas of expertise include microbial diversity and evolution, archaeal and bacterial ecology, microbial genomics, specifically, functional and comparative genomics and development of molecular biology techniques to solve ecological problems. She studies the influence of extreme environments on microbial community structure and function.
Murray holds a B.A. from California Polytechnic State University in Biochemistry, Masters degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from San Francisco State University and a Phd Ecology, Evolution and Marine Biology from University of California, Santa Barbara. She also did postdoc work at Michigan State University in Microbial Functional Genomics.
