Squaw Valley, California is a beautiful alpine valley located near world-famous Lake Tahoe. Scene of the 1960 Winter Olympics, it is best known as a world-class ski resort. But there is more! Squaw Valley is conveniently situated in the close-together resort triangle area defined by the town of Truckee and the North Lake Tahoe communities of Tahoe City, Kings Beach and Incline Village, an area rich with sightseeing, recreation, lodging, gaming and shopping opportunities.



Winter skiing is just one of the many activities available in Squaw Valley.

	Squaw Valley has become a year round resort with many activities in addition to winter skiing. Outside of ski season there are a myriad of activities, including golf, tennis, hiking, cycling and mountain biking, horseback riding, boating and sightseeing at nearby Lake Tahoe.

In the valley are found a great variety of hotels, restaurants, shops and condominiums, and at the base of the ski mountain, a European-style pedestrian village filled with activity and excitement.
Enjoy an evening stroll among the many restaurants and shops, or take a cable car ride and experience amazing views.

It is easy to get to Squaw Valley. By air, Reno-Tahoe International Airport is only a 45-minute shuttle ride, and an Amtrak train station is only 10 minutes away in the town of Truckee. The San Francisco Bay Area is about a 3-1/2 hour drive away and many visitors combine their Squaw Valley stay with a trip to San Francisco. The lights and action of Nevada casinos are also close by.


		Squaw Valley was host to the 1960 Winter Olympics, the first Games held in the Western United States and the first to be televised.
